The theme of Homecoming 2019 is ...  OUTSMART THE RAIDERS

Dress days this year are as follows:

Monday, Sept. 17 -Tie Day (you may wear a tie or a tie-dyed shirt)

Tuesday- Color Day (each grade is assigned a color)

*Pre-K-2nd; freshmen- orange

*3rd-5th; sophomores- red

*6th-8th; juniors- green

*Seniors- blue

 Wednesday- Zoo Day (dress as your favorite zoo animal)

 Thursday- Favorite Book Character Day (any character from a school-appropriate book)

 Friday- Black and Gold Day


Thursday, September 20th-

*Pep rally and announcement of 2019 Homecoming Queen- 7:00 p.m. at the football stadium (the band will lead us up to the bonfire)

 *Bonfire- 8:00 p.m. at the band practice field


Friday, September 21st-

*Parade at 9:00- starting at the baseball field and moving toward the high school

*Alumni recognition immediately following in the SHS gym

*Alumni reception immediately following

*High school class competitions

STEMulate Your Mind After School!

STEMulate Your Mind After School: A 21st Century Community Learning Center at Straughn Elementary and Straughn Middle Schools has 8 goals, with the overall purpose being increased student academic achievement and enrichment. Open to students in grades K-8, the Extended Day Program is available immediately after school Monday through Friday and is open until 5:30 p.m. 

Extended Day Program Fees:

Full-time students pay $15 per week for 4-5 days per week, and part-time is $8 per week per child for 1, 2, or 3 days per week.
